40 Under 40 List By Fortune. Crypto Leaders Among The Most Influential Young People

Fortune magazine published an annual rating, 40 Under 40 list which collects the most influential people in the business world under the age of 40. The cryptocurrency industry is now having a huge impact on modern culture. As in the past year, the list includes the founders of Ethereum Vitalik Buterin and CEO of the leading cryptocurrency platform Coinbase, Brian Armstrong.

40 Under 40 List

In 2018, the list has the usual high-sounding names, such as the founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg and co‑founder of Instagram Kevin Systrom, who shares 1st place. But this time the rating draws attention to the fact that quite a high positions are occupied by a whole group of young people representing the cryptocurrency industry.

Coinbase co-founder and CEO Brian Armstrong comes in at number 20. Currently, this platform has more than 13 million users in 190 countries. Armstrong’s inclusion in the 40 Under 40 list is a recognition that the cryptocurrency has turned from an incomprehensible Internet hobby into a global financial reality.
Vitalik Buterin, Canadian-Russian programmer, known as the co-founder of the Ethereum network, comes in at number 22. It is not his first appearance in Fortune 40 Under 40 list. Vitalik has already been in the Fortune list for several years. According to Fortune, Google tried to hire Buterin “to lead its own whispered crypto endeavors”, but he refused. Buterin have not commented on the news.
it is noteworthy that last year they both, Armstrong and Buterin shared the 10th place.
Vlad Tenev and and Baiju Bhatt, the founders of trading app Robinhood, are placed at number 24. Payment method Robinhood has added Bitcoin this year.

Also this year Pavel Durov, founder of the Telegram messenger and VKontakte social network, has joined 40 Under 40 list for the first time. He is placed at number 25. Earlier this year, Duroov conducted ICO TON blockchain platform and totally in two rounds, the project raised $ 1.7 billion.
