John Mcafee Will Fight SEC “With Every Last Breath”
The founder of MGT Capital Investments and the creator of the McAfee Security antivirus John McAfee called the recognition of ICO-tokens as securities “absurd” and said that he would fight against this decision “with every last breath”. Entrepreneur wrote in his Twitter

I will not now, nor will I ever, accept this as a reality. I am submitting, now, to this law, but I will fight with every last breath to ensure that this absurd overreach by the SEC will not stand!! It will not stand!”
McAfee’s statement was a reaction to the statement by the head of the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Jay Clayton, who called ICO-tokens securities, which are subject to regulation rules of the SEC.
Earlier, Clayton stated at the SEC forum that all cryptocurrencies are securities except Bitcoin. Clayton said:
“Blockchain technology has incredible promise for securities and other industries. It greatly reduces transactions costs, including the costs of verification. It’s a powerful technology… That technology, people have used to apply to fundraising… we’ve had pretty clear…rules on how to conduct fundraising when you’re offering securities. Much of what I have seen in the ICO or token or ICO space, is a security offering… I don’t know how much more clear I can be about it.”
According to McAfee, this definition is “absurd”, with which he will fight “with every last breath”. How this will going on, is not entirely clear. Until now all the entrepreneur’s statements boiled down to calls for public debate with the head of the SEC, notes Bitcoinist.
However, John McAfee said that at the moment he is not going to do anything illegal and will obey this law. Which, however, does not mean that the crypto enthusiast is ready to agree with Clayton. It seems that McAfee will fight SEC and he is serious about the discussion and is ready to defend his vision of the cryptocurrency market.
McAfee is considered one of the most famous and confident crypto-bulls in recent years. He emphasizes the fact that the cryptocurrency is outside the reach of the government.
