It seems that the fact that Coinbase exchange is still ignoring Ripple’s XRP, hasn’t harmed the Ripple business in any way. This week was full of outstanding news for XRP holders. Wirex supports XRP tokens. Charlie Lee refers XRP to diamonds. The recent poll from Weiss Ratings showed that XRP is the most popular cryptocurrency for moving funds between crypto exchanges.
Charlie Lee: XRP are Diamonds
Litecoin founder, Charlie Lee, talking to Chinese media, discussed some his thought about main cryptocurrencies. He called Bitcoin as Gold, Litecoin as Silver and XRP as Diamond.
“There are many possibilities of finding and altcoin to resemble value, but Ripple is somewhat like a diamond because its supply is also artificially controlled. And diamonds are actually advertising … If you want to buy a Ripple for marriage, it is very valuable, haha!”
Earlier, Lee called Bitcoin digital gold, and Litecoin – silver. According to most experts, Charlie is one of the most erudite persons in the crypto industry. If he says anything, it’s worth listening to him.
Wirex supports XRP tokens
This week, the popular British online banking platform Wirex, specializing in the issue of Visa cards connected to a cryptocurrency account, added support for XRP.
“Ripple [XRP] has gained a reputation as a cheap and stable altcoin. While the value of most cryptocurrencies is influenced by the oscillations of Bitcoin, Ripple [XRP] is independent of the Bitcoin blockchain”, stated in Wirex blog.
Using the Wirex application, users can convert XRP to fiat currencies and exchange for more than 50 altcoins. Wirex also supports debit and credit cards.
The Wirex cards became so popular that in the first 12 hours after Wirex started supporting XRP, users conducted through it transactions worth $ 2 million in XRP.
The British start-up Wirex was founded in 2014 by immigrants from the post-Soviet area.
Many people in the cryptocurrency community use Wirex cards and they are not surprised that after Wirex supports XRP, XRP transactions increased immediately. Wirex has become one of the few companies offering XRP tokens for public use. Wirex serves 1.7 million customers in more than 130 countries.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse expects that dozens of banks will start using XRP by the end of next year. This will be due to the speed of transactions and a low price, he said on CNBC.
